At the third annual TennoConn 2018, Digital Extremes unveiled the Nintendo Switch version of the developer and publisher’s cooperative online action game, Warframe.
Digital Extremes has partnered up with developer Panic Button, who has an already-deep portfolio of adapted Switch games (DOOM, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, Rocket League,) and this title represents another high-profile ported title for Nintendo’s flagship console. Warframe can currently be played on the Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 platforms. No release date has been announced for the Switch port.
TennoCon, a player-focused convention celebrating five years of free-to-play Warframe gaming and the 38 million player-strong community backing it, is underway in Ontario, Canada, Warframe is a third-person online action game set in an evolving science fiction world. Distilled straight from the press release, this info shares a little more what Waframe is all about:
Warframe gives players the chance to master the Warframe armor as the enigmatic Tenno, a race of ancient warriors wielding blade and gun, who are awakened from centuries of cryo-sleep by the mysterious guide, Lotus, to restore order throughout the Solar System. Warframe features more than 35 unique Warframes, hundreds of weapons and thousands of customization options, the ability to upgrade weapons armor and items using a flexible mod system, and the ability to join clans, nurture pets, and explore massive new open worlds.
On July 7th at 3 PM PDT/6 PM EST, Digital Extremes will stream TennoCon Live on their Twitch and Youtube channels. If you swing by YouTube, you can also take a look at Digital Extremes’ video trailer about the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of the game here:
