Sony Reveals Several Key PlayStation 5 Game Launch Dates During CES 2021

Sony hosted their press conference toward the end of the first day (media day) at CES 2021. Among the hopes and expectations from this digital presentation was for some fresh information about Sony’s PlayStation 5 (PS5) revently-launched console.

The spoken word portion of the presentation by Chairman, President and CEO of Sony Corporation, Kenichiro Yoshida, and Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO, Jim Ryan, included celebration of the PlayStation 5, which would be expected. The PS5 console’s successful launch and the PS5 community’s diverse audience and content was highlighted inside several other tech reveals and teases by the Tokyo-based tech giant.

But it was a slide inserted at the end of a sizzle reel footage of PlayStation 5 games that included the most newsworthy bit for console gamers. The following tweet captures the image and some of these release dates.

From the slide, in chronological order, here’s the full listed release dates of these PS5 titles. Italicized titles are for dates that offer more specific info than was previously available.

Interestingly, Capcom’s near-future dystopian adventure multi-platform game, Pragmata, was announced for 2022 but Pragmata’s date change slipped in by Sony certainly implies the developers may have had to move the launch window back for any number of reasons. Meanwhile, the project’s social media accounts as well as the game’s official webpage and PlayStation’s official game webpage haven’t noted any date changes as of yet.

To watch Sony’s press conference, CNET’s highlighted the company’s presentation from start to finish on YouTube. CES 2021 is an all-digital expo experience around products, services, technology and trends taking place from January 11-14, 2021.
