GenCon Indy 2025, the massive convention around tabletop games, card games, and video games, seems like a mirage on the distant horizon of the dog days of summer. But some deadlines are coming up very quickly, if you’re interested in this event from July 31 to August 3 in Indianapolis, IN.
Badge Registration
“Badges? We ain’t got no badges. We don’t need no badges! I don’t have to show you any stinkin’ badges!” Humphrey Bogart says in “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” movie. It’s a legendary quote, except, of course, badges are needed for GenCon Indy 2025, and they go on sale on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
To secure a badge as early as Sunday, you need to create a GenCon account or access your existing account. Then, you log in to it, select a badge and follow instructions to purchase. Before going through with a purchase, you also want to make sure your shipping information and payment information is correct and up-to-date, so the badge arrives on time.
A badge buyer can choose to have the badge sent to their address or to pick it up from the Will Call line (which GenCon organizers don’t recommend).
Hotel Registration
For folks who’ve purchased badges, discounted GenCon Indy 2025 reserved blocks for housing open up on Sunday, February 23. This nifty PDF will show you how to get housing, A to Z. Check out the official Housing Guide for up-to-date 2025 hotel policies. For all the details on available hotel options and pricing, explore the official hotel list.
Participation Grant Application
If you’re part of a traditionally underrepresented group and active in the gaming spaces GenCon represents, you have the chance to apply for a four-day pass with extra funds to cover other expenses on the trip. But you only have until Monday, February 10. For more info and to apply, this is the only link you’ll need.
Those are the key milestones ahead for now, but to keep up with every GenCon Indy 2025 update, keep tabs on their website.
