Early bird prices of up to 30 percent will be active until January 21st of 2015, so be sure to pick up on these discounts. Also, some passes, such as the Indie Games Summit pass, have limited amounts. GDC 2015 will be held for the 29th time from March 2 until March 6, 2015, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. A new Esports Summit will be held, along with main conferences ranging from game development to in-depth business and programming. Other features of GDC are the GDC Expo, country-specific pavilions, playable games in the GDC Play area, and much more.
During GDC, the seventh annual Independent Games Festival will be held, where original games concepts compete for the attention of the publishing community. Another major event is the fifth annual Game Developers Choice Awards, which provides peer recognition in the digital games industry. The organizers of GDC 2015 have decided to do a new initiative to help people with low incomes attend GDC 2015; people can enter a lottery to win one of a limited number of free GDC 2015 Expo passes. This new program launches October 27th, and more details will be available on the GDC website soon.
