Visitors of the B2B Conference can expect exciting news and announcements from Capital Games members like Cyanide, Voxler, DONTNOD ENTERTAINMENT, and RMN, the French museums organization, among others.
Paris, France – 16.10.2014 – Game Connection, one of the biggest B2B conferences in Europe, will host over 200 exhibitors at their 14th installment between October 29 and October 31 2014. Visitors can look forward to exciting news and announcements from companies from all over the world during the course of the show.
Several members of Capital Games, the video game association of Paris and Île-de-France, will be present on the exhibitors’ floor to showcase their latest work and services. Among the companies presenting new projects is Voxler, who are introducing the latest installment in their popular karaoke series „Let’s Sing“. Together with Deep Silver, Voxler will present „Let’s Sing 2015“, which will first be released in Europe on October 21. Up to four players can prove their vocal chops on 42 new smash hits by artists such as Clean Bandit, Avicii, Coldplay, Queen or the Village People. Visitors of Game Connection can expect a first look of the game which will be available exclusively for Wii™ and boasts five fresh game modes.
Visitors to the Cyanide booth will get a full overview of their 2014/2015 line-up. Highlights include the recently released „Styx: Master of Shadows“, an infiltration game with RPG elements set in the universe of “Of Orcs and Men”, available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and „Basketball Pro Management 2015“, a mix between management and sport simulation, which was co-developed with Umix Studios and will be available for PC in November 2014. Also among their upcoming line-up is the PC game „Blood Bowl 2“, the sequel to their successful video game adaptation of Games Workshop’s boardgame, and the first person shooter experience of Games Workshop’s classic Space Hulk boardgame, „Space Hulk: Deathwing“, which will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Visitors are also invited to try out sports games like „Pro Cycling Manager 2014“ released earlier this year.
French studio DONTNOD ENTERTAINMENT will present their latest game, „Life is Strange“. Following the success of „Remember Me“, DONTNOD was able to successfully announce its new game in partnership with Square/ENIX. Game Connection attendees can expect an in depth-look into the new episodic, narrative-driven „Life is Strange“, which was first revealed at gamescom 2014.
In addition to game announcements, several members of Capital Games are using the exhibitors’ floor of the conference to highlight their unique services for the games industry. Plug-In-Digital is hoping to meet new developers and studios to grow their portfolio. Their services specifically support indie developers and publishers who need help to distribute their products digitally, focusing on PC and mobile platforms worldwide such as Steam, Amazon, Humble Bundle, or Bigfish. For members of the media, Plug-In-Digital will present several new releases of their line-up, including “Lone Wolf”, the PC adaptation of the popular gamebook series created by Joe Dever and the highly expected space-odyssey “The Next Penelope”, which will be released for PC early next year.
The Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais (RMN), the French museums organization, is offering their expertise to game developers worldwide. The RMN Agency, with their well curated collection of artifacts and a network of history specialists will help designers and developers to create more interesting and historically accurate games.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive will hear pitches for new PC and console games and seek out new technologies for game development while also showcasing new titles in their portfolio.
Aside from members of the Capital Games association, other stand-outs on the exhibition floor include Czech Studio Alda Games who will introduce a unique tower defense for mobile devices with „Defend Your Life“. Inspired by the popular television show „Once upon a time… life“, players will take control of the human body. Each of the 17 levels in the game relates to human organs and players are tasked with making sure bacteria and viruses shall not pass through the body’s defense system. The game is powered by Unity 3D engine and all units and levels are hand-drawn.
Bento brings a unique mobile musical shooter designed for demanding gamers with „Cosmophony“. Players must progress through a series of levels designed to be played to an exhilarating, 100% drum and bass soundtrack by DJ Salaryman (DnB Arena, RAM records). Visitors are invited to accept the challenge this original and intense game presents.
Further announcements will come from HESAW, who will introduce their game „Blue Estate“ for the first time for XBOX One, giving visitors the chance to play a beta version at their booth. Swing Swing Submarine will present their game „Seasons after Fall“, which will be released next year. In 2011, the game won a Development Award for “Best Project 2011”. Beside game annoucements, Game Connection also hosts a number of companies and organisations providing valuable services for the games industry, such as the Brazilian Game Developers Association who will launch their first industry catalogue at Game Connection, with around 200 companies listed. Also present on the exhibitors floor will be the US-based service Payment Wall, who just launched its newest payment solution MINT, a global prepaid card. MINT is a cash payment solution for unbanked, teenagers and any privacy-conscious internet user across the globe.
