ESL Creates New Global Ecosystem for Competitive Mobile Gaming and Opens Up ESL Mobile for a Truly Worldwide Competition

COLOGNE/STOCKHOLM/NEW YORK — ESL Gaming, the world’s largest esports company, has today announced a new Mobile esports ecosystem providing millions of gamers around the world the opportunity to compete and engage with popular  titles such as Asphalt 9: Legends, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Legends of Runeterra, PUBG Mobile, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.

After a successful 2019 launch of the ESL Mobile Open in North America and Europe, the new ESL Mobile program expands to reach more players across new regions, exciting game titles, and an updated competitive format.

In an effort to create a global infrastructure of dedicated players and fans, ESL Mobile will offer opportunities to players in over 80 eligible countries spanning three competitive regions (North America, Europe/MENA, and Asia-Pacific). ESL has partnered with top game publishers and developers Gameloft, Riot, Supercell, and Tencent to offer players and viewers alike a unique chance to compete and engage with the most popular mobile games in the world.

ESL will host two full seasons of action in 2021 with the ESL Mobile Spring 2021 season kicking off in April. Each season will consist of two competitive tiers, ESL Mobile Open and the all-new ESL Mobile Challenge. The ESL Mobile Open represents the start of the esports journey and allows players of all skill-levels to compete in top mobile games. Players work their way through two ladder phases and two play-in opportunities for a spot in the ESL Mobile Challenge phase of the tournament.

The competition heats up in the ESL Mobile Challenge, where the best players from the Open level compete against invited teams in a regular season to finals format. Competition in the Challenge phase will be featured and covered with extensive live broadcasts and shoulder content further bringing the tournament to life for millions around the globe. While the first season of the tournament will be played entirely online, subsequent finals competitions will be held live at major esports events around the world. All told, ESL Mobile will offer players a stake in the over USD $650,000 prize pool.

ESL has made a name for itself building competitive ecosystems across a wide variety of games and genres in the esports landscape. We’re incredibly excited to continue this trailblazing and innovative approach in the mobile esports space,” said Kevin Rosenblatt, co-managing Director of ESL North America and General Manager of Mobile at ESL Gaming. “Mobile gaming has reached unprecedented popularity worldwide and ESL is thrilled to bring players and fans this competitive and highly engaging program.”
