We’re heading to the end of 2020 (whew), and just after the new year comes the annual tradition of the consumer mega-show, CES 2021, which will be all digital this year. More announcements have been coming in faster and more furiously as we approach the start of the event. Let’s take a quick look at some of the latest news from CES 2021!
CES 2021’s Digital Venue Previewed
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) revealed their venue (or rather, their online framework for hosting the events) along with basic navigation and scheduling information for CES 2021. It’s a good primer if you plan to attend and want to know how and when to begin, what a couple of the key stops are, and how to navigate around CES’ virtual space. CES 2021Â Innovation Awards Honorees Announced
The CTA also announced their Innovation Awards honorees, the result of an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products across 28 product categories. The CES 2021 Innovation Awards received over 1200 submissions. The judges weighing in on the nominees are members of the media, designers, engineers among other luminaries, who reviewed submissions based on innovation, engineering and functionality, aesthetic and design. The honorees that are Best of Innovation given to the submissions with the highest score across product categories.
The honorees, complete with product description and photos, can be found on this page at the CES 2021 site. Among some of the name brands represented on this list with products that gamers are likely familiar with are ASUS, AMD, 1MORE, Audeze, Dell, HP, and many others. From the Best of Innovation list, AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors, Imverse Live3D rendering engine and volumetric holograms, and Samsung‘s Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G/Galaxy Note20 5G smartphones are among some of the products in the “Best of” categories of awards.
