The E3 trade show has had a storied past that has lead it to where it sits upon its perch in the game industry events pantheon. With this year’s E3 just over a week away from kicking in to full gear, this is a great chance to read the roller coaster story that shows E3’s tumultuous growing pains.
One of the best stories that illustrates this back story was written last year by Engadget’s Sean Buckley in this retrospective look at where E3 was, how the ESAÂ organization shaped the modern show we know as E3, where the show stands now, and where it might be heading. The history still stands the test of time.
