Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 Online (AGDQ) has wrapped up after a week of speedruns of all kinds of games. Speedrunning is all about playing through a game as quickly as possible. The other focus of AGDQ is the fundraising aspect the organizers conduct alongside the playing-games-quickly half of the event.
This time, AGDQ finished with over two-and-three-quarters million dollars raised for Prevent Cancer. Among the other interesting stats from this year’s AGDQ: there were 157 runs over the week, 25,647 donators who made 42,084 donations. The max donation was a hefty $187,084.08. A year ago, AGDQ 2020 pulled in a record $3 million in donations, but the final tally this year is no less impressive, especially as an event that was hosted solely online.
Our final #AGDQ2021 total is $2,758,847 for @preventcancer!
We hope that you had a wonderful time watching all of the runs and talented runners, and want to say thank you to everyone involved in the event, everyone who donated, and of course, all of you for being here with us! pic.twitter.com/nBShMysTxR
